Visit counts
I use GoatCounter to see which pages people read. It counts page views and a few button clicks: email, booking a call, résumé downloads, my profile links. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't follow you to other sites, and doesn't store your IP address. What it keeps is the page, the site that sent you here, your browser and screen size, and your rough location (country).
What your browser remembers
The GitHub numbers are kept for an hour so they don't reload on every visit. Both stay on your device; I never see them.
Other services your browser talks to
- Google Fonts serves the lettering.
- github-contributions-api.jogruber.de provides the GitHub numbers, but only when you scroll near that part of the homepage.
- Calendly loads only when you open the booking window. If you book a call, Calendly's own privacy policy applies.
- Gmail opens in a new tab when you click to email me.
What I don't do
No ads, no newsletter, no selling or sharing data. A content blocker can stop the visit counts, and the site works exactly the same.
